Colin is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years experience in property management and development, working mostly within a corporate environment. He has worked throughout the UK on all types of property as well as being responsible for development and regeneration projects in the Netherlands and Australia.

Early career

After 20 years as estate manager and development director for Redland Properties, where he was responsible for an 8,000 ha portfolio, Colin joined Stannifer Developments Ltd in 1999, working on out of town retail developments. From 2004 as Head of Property Management for Multiplex Developments and later Brookfield Asset Management, he was responsible for the ongoing management of the Sapphire Retail Fund, a shopping centre holding of 139,000 m2 of retail space. More recently the focus was on the delivery of the Eden Shopping Centre, a major retail led town centre regeneration project in High Wycombe that provided 76,600 m2 of space and included 55 new shops, a 12 screen cinema, 18 lane bowling alley, 48 flats, new bus station, library and 1700 car parking spaces. The project also required the complete refurbishment of the former Octagon Centre. The fully integrated scheme lifted High Wycombe to inside the top fifty destinations in the retail rankings.

Current responsibilities

Colin joined LaSalle in 2011 as Estates Director for Stoneleigh Park, with the responsibility to revitalise the former Royal Showground. The site comprises 101 ha of land allocated as a major developed site in the Green Belt plus 300 ha of adjacent farmland. The core site already contains about 93,000 m2 of buildings that is home to over 75 businesses employing around 1,200 people. Following the success in 2012 of obtaining planning consent for a masterplan to guide future development, a programme of building refurbishments is now being progressed together with the construction of new buildings and upgrades to the site infrastructure.
